Silent Prayer

Almighty God, even as the drums of warfare beat on through the night, even as the cries          of injustice linger in the morning, even as the hustle of busyness rumbles through the day,   quiet our hearts. Still our thoughts. Join us in our worship. Remember us in your mercy            as we try to remember you, through the proclamation of your good news, in story and in song, and through the hospitality of your gracious table. Welcome us again, one Lord,               Creator, Redeemer, and Holy Sustainer. Amen

Jesus loves me still today! Walking with me on my way,

Wanting as a friend to give light and love to all who live.

*Hymn       Now Thank We All Our God                                      Hymns of Truth & Light #27

Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices,

who wondrous things hath done, in whom this world rejoices;

who, from our mothers' arms hath blessed us on our way

with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,

with ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us,

to keep us in all grace, and guide us when perplexed,

and free us from all ills of this world in the next.

All praise and thanks to God almighty now be given;

to God, the three in one, who reign in highest heaven,

the one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore;

for thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Prayers of the People – Sharing Joys & Concerns

Lord’s Prayer from the New Zealand Prayer Book

Eternal Spirit, Earth Maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver, Source of all that is and that shall be, Father and Mother of us all, Loving God, in whom is heaven. The hallowing of your name echoes through the universe! The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the earth! Your heavenly will be done by all created beings! Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth. With the bread we need for today, feed us. In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us. In times of temptation and testing, strengthen us. From the trials too great to bear, spare us. From the grip of all that is evil, free us. For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and forever. Amen

       Lead me Lord, lead me in thy righteousness, make thy way plain before my face.

      For it is thou Lord, thou Lord, only, that makest me dwell in safety.
