Hancock UCC Weekly Messenger for November 6, 2022
Christ is made the sure foundation, Christ, our head and cornerstone, chosen of the Lord and precious, binding all the Church as one; holy Zion’s help forever and our confidence alone.
Daylight savings time ends Sunday morning at 2:00 am.
Don’t forget to “fall back”.
At their October 19th meeting, Council voted to continue following CDC guidelines.
That means while transmission rates are low or medium that masks are optional.
When transmission rates are high, masking and distancing will be re-implemented.
Also, if masking and distancing are in effect, then coffee time will be canceled.
Our guest speaker on Sunday, Oct. 30 titled her talk, “Death Belongs to Life.”

STEWARDSHIP AND THE ANNUAL MEETING - THE GRIM FACTS:
To date (11-1) we have 24 pledges for $57,910. The proposed church budget hopes for $68,000. We are short $10,000 in our pledge goal in addition to a possible deficit of $28,092 when all income and spending assumptions are considered.
If these funding shortfalls are not mitigated by additional pledges and new income sources, our congregation will be forced to make some harsh and uncomfortable budget decisions. Please, if you have not pledged your financial support for next year, do so as soon as you can. If you can increase the pledge you have already made, please do. Pledge cards are available in the Sanctuary, or one can be mailed to you.
It is critically important that you attend our Annual Meeting in person or on Zoom after worship on November 13th so you can help solve this pressing budget dilemma. The meeting is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m. Please contact David Wildes (422-3739) with questions and suggestions and thank you for your kind attention to this urgent matter.
