Silent Prayer

O God, we honor this day the majesty and the mystery of your name.

You are both infinite and intimate, known and unknowable, transcendent and transparent.

In love, you have made us your own, and invite us to join in your divine dance.

We will not rest until we rest in you, Blessed Trinity, one God forever and ever. Amen

*Introit Weave R. #375

Weave, weave, weave us together, Weave us together in unity and love.

Weave, weave, weave us together. Weave us together, together in love.

*Call to Worship

One: Hear O Humankind, the prayer of my heart. Are we not one? Have we not one desire, to live in unity? All: Are we not all siblings? Are we not all grandchildren of the same mystery? Do we not all want to love and be loved? Do we not want to work and play, and sing, and dance together? One: May we live and love together forever in Jesus’ name. All: As with one desire, as siblings, may we live together as one. One: But we live in fear. Fear that is hate. Fear that is mistrust. Fear that is anger and cruelty. Fear that is loneliness and bitterness. All: We live in fear that is love, twisted and turned back on itself. Love denied and love rejected. One: In Jesus’ name we pray: Let us live without fear. Let us live in love. All: Life is wondrous, awesome, and holy. Life is burning glory in all the colors of the rainbow. And its price is simply this: Courage. We must be brave enough to love ourselves and to love each other. One: Radical Love is courage. All: Radical Love is courage. May we love forever in Jesus’ name.

*Hymn Diverse in Culture, Nation, Race R. #372

Diverse in culture, nation, race, we come together by your grace.

God, let us be a meeting ground where hope and healing love are found.

God, let us be a bridge of care connecting people everywhere. Help us confront all fear and hate and lust for pow’r that separate.

When chasms widen, storms arise, O Holy Spirit, make us wise. Let our resolve, like steel, be strong to stand with those who suffer wrong.

God, let us be a table spread with gifts of love and broken bread, where all find welcome, grace attends, and enemies arise as friends.

*Invocation (spoken in unison)

God our Potter, God who becomes clay, God who shapes us in the fire, we are made new in your presence. We come seeking your wisdom, crying out our concerns, needing your peace. Use this time to form us as community, connected through your breath, life, and hope that propels us as your body in the world. Amen

Children’s Message

Old Testament Readings (Hebrew Scriptures) Isaiah 55:12

New Testament Readings (Christian Scriptures) Romans 5:1-5

Special Music – Choir How Can I Keep from Singing American Folk Hymn/ Andy Beck

Message                                                                                                             Rev. TJ Mack

Help us accept each other as Christ accepted us;

teach us as sibling, other, each person to embrace.

Be present, God, among us, and bring us to believe

we are ourselves accepted and meant to love and live.

Teach us, O God, your lessons, as in our daily life

we struggle to be human and search for hope and faith.

Teach us to care for people, for all, not just for some,

to love them as we find them, or as they may become.

Let your acceptance change us, so that we may be moved

in living situations to do the truth in love;

To practice your acceptance, until we know by heart

the table of forgiveness and laughter's healing art.

God, for today's encounters with all who are in need,

who hunger for acceptance, for righteousness and bread,

Bring us new eyes for seeing, new hands for holding on;

renew us with your Spirit; God! free us, make us one!

Prayer for Transformation and New Life Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, we confess that we do not always heed the wisdom you impart. We turn toward other marks and means of validation rather than toward you. We remain in awe of our own creation while devouring and decimating yours. Continue to call us, we pray, and to surprise and delight us at your magnificence and majesty. May we always be in awe of your glory and humbled by your nearness. Let our character be shaped toward hope and reflect your peace.

Words of Grace Receive the peace extended to us from the God of Grace who joined our embodied experience and who invites us to shared glory of the resurrected life in which we are made new and whole.

Prayers of the People – Sharing Joys & Concerns

Lead Me Lord

Lead me Lord, lead me in thy righteousness, make thy way plain before my face.

For it is thou Lord, thou Lord, only, that makest me dwell in safety.

Offering

Welcoming our Tithes and Offerings – Giver, Steward, and Guide, may these gifts we bring magnify beyond the boundaries of our community to create new possibilities in the world.

Offertory Lift Thine Eyes Mendelssohn/Wildman

*The Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise God, all creatures here below;

Praise God for all that love has done;

Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One. Amen

*Prayer of Dedication (spoken in unison)

Generous, Abundant, and Precious God, bless our offerings of presence, ability, and resources as we participate as your co-creators.

*Hymn In the Midst of New Dimensions B. #391

In the midst of new dimensions, in the face of changing ways.

Who will lead the pilgrim peoples wandering in their separate ways?

Refrain:

God of rainbow, fiery pillar, leading where the eagles soar,

We your people, ours the journey now and ever, now and ever, now and ever more.

Through the flood of starving people, warring factions and despair,

Who will lift the olive branches? Who will light the flame of care?

Refrain:

As we stand a world divided by our own self -seeking schemes,

Grant that we, your global village might envision wider dreams.

Refrain:

We are man and we are woman, all persuasions, old and young,

Each a gift in your creation, each a love song to be sung.

Refrain:

Should the threats of dire predictions cause us to withdraw in pain,

May your blazing phoenix spirit, resurrect the church again.

Refrain:

*Blessing

May the God of Peace assure you.

May the God of Life invigorate you.

May the God of Wind direct you.

Go, in peace and hope, to transform your community and the world to the glory of God.

*Sung Benediction Go With Us, Lord R. #336

That in your Spirit strong and true our lives may be our gift to you.
